Group Messaging: On the Run

Group messaging is the best thing since sliced bread. Long gone are the days of copying and pasting the exact same text message ten separate times to ten different people. Or the confusion of making plans with a large group of people, the difficulty of notifying everyone about any changes and keeping everyone on the same page.

It is one of the things we take for granted, but I don’t think anyone can imagine a world where group messaging did not exist. This is why messaging apps such as Facebook Messenger & Groupme have become so popular in our society – they make group messaging easily accessible with the tap of a few simple buttons.

Team on the Run provides an entire new take on group messages. One of the basic concepts of the app is that it is one huge group chat between you and all the members of your company or business. Conversations can literally take place with every single person in one place at one time, no matter how big or how small of a company it is.

In addition, TOTR includes another feature, in which there can be smaller group chats for the different groups within the company, for example a Marketing Department group chat or a Sales Department group chat, or even a group chat to place a lunch order for all the members in office on a particular day. Not only can you communicate with colleagues around the country, but you can even include members from all over the world. Group collaboration has never been so easy!
And again, unlike Groupme, Facebook and other messaging apps, any information exchanged through Team on the Run is always protected by our state-of-the-art encryption system, and therefore will always remain 100% confidential.

Web chat to mobile: On the Run

Imagine a typical day in the office. You’re currently working on a business deal with a client online when all of a sudden, your babysitter informs you she can no longer pick up your son from school. Or maybe you lost your phone in the clutter of your desk while in the middle of an extremely important conversation with your boss.

No worries – that’s exactly the problem that the web-to-chat feature of Team on the Run targets.

If you have an iPhone and a Macbook, you know exactly how useful this feature can prove to be. With iMessage, every conversation updates instantaneously between iPhone and Macbook, and vice versa, so that your conversation can continue whether you are lounging around in bed on your laptop, or on the go with only your phone. Which is perfect since we live in an era where no one goes anywhere or does anything without their phone in hand.

Similarly, with Team on the Run’s WebChat feature, all conversations, whether they are group chats or individual chats, sync in real time from phone to desktop, and vice versa. However, unlike iMessage, these chats remain secure while being synced – just another guarantee provided by Team on the Run.

In other words, through Team on the Run, it is extremely easy to communicate from mobile devices via our secure app OR on laptops/desktops via our secure web browser log-in. No matter where you are and no matter what device you are using, your data will always be synced and ready to take care of!

Pokemon Go and location sharing on the Run

Pokemon Go, a location based AR game for mobile devices is out and is sweeping the nation. Pokemon Go has had a massive launch while becoming the biggest mobile game in US history when it comes to daily active users.

Get this, Pokemon Go in one day surpassed Twitter’s daily number of active users and is now going after juggernauts like Snapchat and Google Maps. As of July 11th Pokemon Go has amassed over $7.5 million downloads and is making around $1.6 million.

So why all this Pokemon Go talk on the blog? Well Geolocation of course! The driving force behind what is making Pokemon Go tick is Geolocation. In Pokemon Go you walk around in search for the Pokemon using the integrated maps provided by company Niantic. A Geolocation tool is nothing new here at Team on the Run, we aim to help businesses become more effective with our web-based dispatch panel.

Team on the Run’s Geolocation is powered by Google Maps and offers real-time position tracking, a web-based dispatch panel as well as the ability use in app GPS and pins.

TOTR Geo Locator

Our Geolocation tool is perfect for fleet management teams allowing them to be able to see where your agents are located with state of the art real time GPS tracking technology and contact them directly from the map thanks to our WebRTC capability.

So whether you are looking to be a Pokemon Master and use the dispatch tool to help friends track down Pokemon or a limo service looking to use real time GPS tracking from a web panel, Team on the Run is here for all your business needs.

Team on the Run updates check-ins at the workplace with cutting edge Near Field Communication (NFC) Tag

A couple of months ago we were happy to announce the addition of new NFC Tag technology to the Team on the Run service.

Today our post is about popular use cases for this technology in different industries, but first:

What is Team on the Run Near Field Communication (NFC) Technology?

Long and technical story short, Team on the Run uses the built-in NFC technology of your Android smartphone to send an automated message from your device to a central company database when in close contact with an NFC tag (or reader). Team on the Run allows you to create custom messages that fit each use case. The message that is sent could be text or it could change the status of a task in your company’s centralized management system. Team on the Run’s NFC Tag feature harnesses the technology you already have but are not using, and allows you to automate daily processes, streamlining your business activity and saving you resources at a very reasonable price. NFC Tag is a real steal that is included in our most basic package. You can read more about it HERE, otherwise scroll down for some examples of this technology.

  2. Security Guards are provided with Android devices with Team on the Run app pre-loaded on them
  3. Alert message is customized and linked to business Central Management System via open API to send an alert if security agent has not checked into a room in X minutes with the exact time and location of the last check in
  4. Security staff are trained to swipe device over each room door as they make their rounds

Team on the Run: A HIPAA Compliant Mobile Communication Tool for Healthcare Professionals

totr healthcare image

This January, the Indiana Court of Appeals upheld a landmark victory that sets the precedent for patients seeking to hold health professionals accountable for violating HIPAA policy on the sharing of personal health information (PHI.)

hipaa totr

The good news is that these situations are easily avoidable through the proper protection of PHI.

Team on the Run, being a HIPAA compliant communication tool, can help you control your communications to increase efficiency and ensure compliance.

Team on the Run Helps Hospitals Work Faster

The Challenge: A regional hospital needs a way to help its small staff see more patients and process prescriptions efficiently, while adhering to HIPAA guidelines on PHI security.

The Solution: The Team on the Run solution, installed on existing devices allows instant communication; removing the need to play “phone tag”, deal with voice mail, or wait for bulky emails.

The Result: Staff free up enough time to see up to 50% more patients. The time saved in communications reduces patient wait times, sends procedure results back to doctors faster, and allows staff to see more patients per shift.

Team on the Run Protects Local Pharmacy from Lawsuit

The Challenge: A customer thinks the pharmacy may have accidentally leaked PHI to their partner. The pharmacy may be confident that their staff is well-trained in honoring the HIPAA “Privacy Rule”, but how do they prove their data security to a court?

The Solution: Unlike SMS texts or other messaging services – Team on the Run messaging tracks records sent and received, and is designed with the latest protection protocols. The solution includes an extra level of authentica- tion to help ensure that sensitive information is only sent to verified recipients. External control features can prevent former employees from taking private PHI with their devices should they leave.

The Result: The Team on the Run solution, along with the secure records of staff members using the solution, can help protect you from liability through supporting chain of custody for the receipt of private information.

Team on the Run Helps Doctors Work Remotely

The Challenge: Doctors and nurses sometimes make house calls, work from remote locations, or sometimes respond to an emergency when not officially on duty. They may need a way to communicate in real time, without compromising personal information.

The Solution: The Team on the Run solution allows for separate, distinct groups. Doctors need to share information, including files or images, with staff for a specific patient. They need a way to discuss information about that patient, without sharing this private information with other staff not involved with that patient’s care.

The Result: Medical staff can share needed information in real time, without breaching privacy. Other communications platforms give users “one big room” where they create a HIPAA privacy violation risk by dealing with messages from all users, regardless of relevance.

Q&A with Team on the Run: the all-in-one business mobility and communication tool

Q: What are the unique features of your product that set it apart from other services of this kind and how can your customers benefit from these features?

A: Team on the Run is a very unique new breed of mobile communication services. It is the best of both worlds: as convenient and easy to use as popular messaging apps and as secure and efficient as enterprise-specific tools. Convenience and security priced under the market average so it’s a win – win –win.

basic features

Differentiating Features Include:

  • Mobile Corporate Directory: Team on the Run pushes all of your organization’s contacts to your Smartphone and stores updated contact info – e-mail, phone number, department title, etc. – without mixing with your personal contact list on your phone. Please get rid of the e-mail circulated excel contact sheet – its time…
  • Smartphone/Tablet – Web Browser real-Time Sync: Companies today have all shapes sizes, locations and hours. Not everyone works 9 to 5 in an office building so you should be able to conveniently reach and work with your team wherever you are and wherever they are. Team on the Run works on all Android and iPhone smartphones, iPads and any web browser. If you spend 50% of your time commuting, visiting remote work sites, travelling and it’s easier to chat about projects with your team on your smartphone, all of your exchanges will be synced in real time and waiting for you to pick up on your desktop in your home office as soon as you get home. Easy peasy.
  • VoIP Calls and Virtual Walkie-Talkie: Team on the Run has the best audio quality of voice over the internet on the market and we are proud about it. Popular mass-market low-cost VoIP call apps have nothing on our crystal-clear, secure, uninterrupted calls. Get rid of your clunky IP phones in the office and start doing your international conference calls with your teams via Team on the Run virtual walkie-talkie: Unlimited channels/ frequencies and connect to Wi-Fi to call internationally for free.
  • Near Field Communications (NFC) Check-in: Available for all Android Smartphones with NFC Readers, this cutting-edge technology is automating the hotel room reassignment process and many other check-in scenarios in the business environment. A dime-sized inexpensive sticker NFC reader placed in hotel rooms, office buildings, remote construction sites with prompt a message to be sent to a team manager with location, date and time stamps when in close proximity to the device. This could mean: I arrived and started my work on time at the construction site or this hotel room is now clean and ready to be re-assigned for example.
  • Geolocation on-demand/Tracking (Available Sept 2015): With extremely powerful and even life-saving use-cases in public and private security and emergency situation management, Team on the Run has a geolocation option that when enabled by the user allows a team leader to locate team members on the map in real time and even list them in order of physical proximity to a specific address in order to deploy police teams, taxis, ambulances, etc. immediately and more efficiently.

Q: Describe 3 scenarios of specific problems companies often face and explain how your product can help them deal with these problems. Point to specific features of your product used in these scenarios.

A: Team on the Run is the all-in-one mobile business communication tool. It has a number of advanced cutting edge features, each with use cases of their own that solve different issues in different industries. On this occasion, in the benefit of brevity, I am forced to narrow down the examples to only 3. Please reach out to my team for more use-cases specific to your industry or to talk about your company in particular by e-mailing us at info@teamontherun.com if what you read sparks some interest – as it should!

1)     Outdated, inefficient manual employee check-in/status update

  • Industries affected: Hotels, Office Buildings and Companies with remote employees (construction, transportation, cleaning/repair services, etc.)
  • Team on the Run Features used to solve the issue: NFC Tag
  • Hotel example: In this day and age you shouldn’t waste resources in manual status updates. With Team on the Run’s NFC technology plus a dime-sized inexpensive sticker NFC reader placed in hotel rooms, maids can swipe their phones on their way out of a room to automatically prompt a message to the hotel central management software changing the status of the room from occupied to vacant at the front desk.

NFC tag banner

2)     HIPAA Laws Restrict the way healthcare professionals can exchange privileged client information.

  • Industries affected: Hospitals, Private MD Practices, Pharmacies, Dentists, etc.
  • Team on the Run Features used to solve the issue: HIPAA Compliancy. Military-grade encryption of all communication through the app. Secure closed-circuit environment, all from your personal smartphone available anytime, on the go or on a web browser.
  • Pharmacy Example: Big pharmacy chains such as Walgreens and CVS sometimes get questions from patients that need to be answered by the pharmacist. If this person is not on site at a particular time, the clerk is not allowed to text, call, or e-mail questions about the patients because of HIPAA regulations. This causes long waits, a decrease in sales for the pharmacy and lawsuits/big fines if unsecure communication occurs. Team on the Run provides a HIPPA-ready solution so that healthcare professionals can reach each other instantly, securely and in compliance with the law by call, instant message with file exchange option and even virtual walkie-talkie. All of this available via smartphone app, to take on the go, or via web browser.

3)     Pressing need for Digital Transformation, Business Mobility, The Mobile Enterprise

  • Industries affected: All industries need to adjust to new working environment, remote working, freelancers, consultants, mobile communications, etc.
  • Team on the Run Features used to solve the issue: Smartphone/Tablet real time sync with web browser; easy-to-use, business-specific, secure communication service.
  • Use-case details: There is a clear shift in the way companies function. Technology allows employees to work from anywhere so we are seeing all forms of business teams and business organizations with global teams, home offices, working on smartphones, etc. Team on the Run is the all-in- one business communication solution that will allow you to make this shift easily, cost-effectively and securely to adapt to your team’s current needs. Team on the Run is the perfect HIPAA-ready communication tool for healthcare professionals

hipaa banner

With headlines such as “$1.44 Million HIPAA award upheld after Walgreen pharmacist shared patient data” -Indy Star, Nov 17, 2014; healthcare professionals in the US know about the risks of communicating sensitive patient information via popular messaging tools all too well.

In order to ensure the confidentiality of patient data, the treatment of all Personal Health Information (PHI) across healthcare specialties (doctors, pharmacists, dentists, etc.) is strictly regulated in the US. With the advent of mobile communication it is becoming more inconvenient to adhere to the regulations since many healthcare professionals need to communicate with their team quickly, many times on the go, and most instant messaging software available, especially when free, is vulnerable and open to liability. Team on the Run addresses this issue by providing secure and instant communication via encrypted Smartphone app or web browser version (WebChat).

Team on the Run can help you control your communications to increase efficiency and ensure compliance.

  • Real time communication
  • Military-grade security
  • As intuitive as texting
  • Verification for read and receipt
  • Control who has access to information

Read below just a few examples of how Team on the Run can easily solve current issues in the healthcare sector:

1) Team on the Run Helps Hospitals Work Faster

The Challenge: A regional hospital needs a way to help its small staff see more patients and process prescriptions efficiently, while adhering to HIPAA guidelines on PHI security.

The Solution: The Team on the Run solution, installed on healthcare professionals’ existing devices, allows instant, real-time communication between staff members clearly. Removing the need to play “phone tag”, deal with voice mail, or wait for bulky emails.

The Result: Staff free up enough time to see up to 50% more patients. The time saved in communications reduces patient wait times, sends procedure results back to doctors faster, and allows personnel to see more patients per shift. This is especially important for organizations with limited staff!

2) Team on the Run Protects Local Pharmacy from Lawsuit

The Challenge: A customer is embarrassed when a former partner divulges sensitive health information about them publicly. The customer thinks the pharmacy may have accidentally leaked PHI to their partner.

The Team on the Run solution includes an extra level of authentication to help ensure that sensitive information is only sent to verified recipients. External control features can prevent former employees from taking private PHI with their devices should they leave.

The Result: The technical specifications of the Team on the Run solution, along with the secure records of staff members using the solution, can help protect you from liability through providing chain of custody for the receipt of private information.

3) Team on the Run Helps Doctors Work Remotely

The Challenge: Doctors and nurses sometimes make house calls, work from remote locations, or sometimes respond to an emergency when not officially on duty. They may need a way to communicate in real time, without compromising the security of personal information.

The Solution: The Team on the Run solution allows for separate, distinct groups. Doctors need to share information, including files or images, with a specific team of nurses, assistants, and specialists for a specific patient. They need a way to discuss information about that patient, without sharing this private information with other staff who are not involved with that patient’s care.

The Result: Doctors and other staff can get the needed information in real time, without breaching security by sharing or receiving non-pertinent information. Other communications platforms give users “one big room” where they create a HIPAA privacy violation risk by dealing with messages from all users, regardless of relevance.

Team on the Run is THE next generation all-in-one mobile business communication tool. The TOTR solution guarantees safe and verifiable reception of all types of messages: text, corporate documents, maps, contacts, photos, videos, music, and more! Developed and backed by established VAS provider StreamWIDE, this effective collaboration software brings businesses into the mobile-age easily and efficiently, saving managers and employees across-industries resources and raising the organization’s bottom line.

Mobile work tools for commuters and travelers – Does your business communication app work offline?

TOTR Social media messages v3-01

Daily Mail estimates in this article that the average time we spend commuting in our lives is 18 months. This means that over a year of our lives is spent waiting to get from point A to point B to actually do something productive. If you work in a big city such as DC, LA or NYC, or you are what is referred to as a mega-commuter, maybe even more time is spent idle in transit. Talk about a waste of time.

Cities continue to grow and even though working remotely – or from home – is becoming more and more popular, those who travel back and forth to the office are still seeing their commute times slowly increase over time.

Technology to the Rescue: Mobile Business Communication and Work Tools

Whether you work from home or commute to your place of work, technology is quickly evolving to meet the needs of the current work environment. Business mobile communication solutions such as Team on the Run, conveniently allow work to get done outside of the office.

There are a number of popular messaging tools surfacing all over the app stores but few combine ease of use and speed with security and organization – so critical in the business environment – like Team on the Run does. This next generation tool, that runs on both smartphones and web browsers and syncs in real-time across devices, was developed to solve the issues of the modern day worker.

If your commute involves long hours on public transportation, the Team on the Run service gives you the appropriate tools to gain back that year and a half of your life by allowing you to get a head start on your work. Team on the Run is great to stay connected with your team back at the office or dispersed in the field. The tool pushes contact info for all company members into a dedicated mobile corporate directory in your smartphone and allows you to group users for different chat sessions by department or by project. Broadcast messages in a group or initiate a multi-participant push-to-talk conference call. Access your cloud storage to retrieve files and exchange them securely and instantly through the app. All of your exchanges will automatically sync to your web browser so that you can pick up on your desktop at work or at home at your convenience. All of this with an easy to use solution with end-to-end encryption and in a secure closed circuit environment.

Promo Image Offline

No internet connection – no problem. Does your Mobile Messaging App work Offline?

All this sounds great but you may be thinking that all off this is no good because you lose connection on the subway or on a plane. Think again – Team on the Run was built with this and other issues in mind. Our mission is to make your and your business more productive by making it easy for you to work anytime, anywhere.

To solve the data connection issue, Team on the Run uses two different techniques:

– Fall-back SMS: when activated, this feature continuously monitors to check that all parties on sending and receiving end have a data connection. If this is not the case, the message is converted and sent as an SMS. This improves the success of message reception and lets you go on with your day and worry about other stuff.

– Offline mode: no need to have a connection to open the app and view your existing conversations. Most airlines are adding affordable in-flight wifi connections but even if it is impossible to get any kind of connection – data or WiFi – Team on the Run will still be able to open, let you see existing conversations and queue up new messages to be sent once a connection is established.

There is a lot Team on the Run can do for you. Give it a try for free by subscribing to the service and registering your team HERE.

Or feel free to get in touch and our team will answer your questions personally. E-mail us at support@teamontherun.com
